OUR PROGRAMMES
We work alongside families experiencing hardship and assist them to connect with agencies and community providers to ensure they receive all of the assistance available to them. Our workers don’t just advocate for whānau, they also liaise with community groups and services to promote and encourage a wider network of support for whānau. Who has access to our programmes?
Women continue to be the primary victims of domestic violence and our services are designed to lead women and their families towards safety, stability and wellbeing.

– Help to leave an abusive relationship
– Help to develop a safety plan
– Help with stabilising your affairs
– Advocacy with government agencies
– Grants of furniture, clothing or food
– Fully supported safe housing
Children are the silent victims of domestic violence. We believe that intervention in early childhood is a critical step to prevent the continuation of domestic violence impacting upon future generations. For this reason, we work with your whole family to increase safety for your children and, we encourage all parents to develop their parenting skills by ensuring that children have access to quality early childhood education.

Although men are the main perpetrators of domestic violence incidents and homicides, there are few services that cater to and/or are made available to these men. Anger management, counselling, alcohol and drug rehabilitation programmes generally have long waiting lists and are often court-directed placements. We recognise that in order for men to take full responsibility for their actions, they too need to be given the tools and support to become violence-free.
